Who Knew?

7 May

Apparently Free People makes videos. I found this one on stylePublic, my current favorite blog, which is headed up by Charleston Magazine style editor Ayoka Lucas. I’ve been waiting for a fashion blog like this to come out of Charleston and this one is, for lack of a better term, legit. Watch this video Lucas posted if you need yet another reason to swoon over the Free People brand.

Here are some of their newest pieces that I’m loving.

Film Title: Mean Girls.

As Leandra Medine pointed out on The Man Repeller today, it’s the ninth anniversary of Mean Girls. At the risk of posting something too empty of content for words, I’m just going to say whoa. If you had’ve asked me yesterday when that movie came out, I would have said five years ago tops. I hear it quoted weekly, which I guess means it’s a classic. “Sweatpants are all that fit me right now” and “you can’t sit with us” have become staples in mine and my friends’ vocabularies.

But seriously, what would I do without the Man Repeller to remind me of epic milestones like this one?

Cheers to Mean Girls and its incredible influence on pop culture,

Margaret

Hanna Seabrook on The Glitter Guide

23 Apr

The Glitter Guide is seriously loving Charleston lately. I featured Hanna Seabrook in my Troubador post, and here she is again only a few weeks later in her very own Glitter Guide slideshow! Hanna is a fellow Wofford Terrier and Kappa Delta who has made a huge name for herself with her company Gadabout. Though we were never in school at the same time, Hanna’s name is familiar to me and almost everyone in my sorority.

Today on The Glitter Guide they featured Hanna’s adorable Charleston home, which is decorated with a sophistication almost unheard of at her age. Here are some of my favorites from the shoot-I love the books, both old and new, scattered throughout the house. It adds such a personal “lived in” feel.

Today: Troubadour on The Glitter Guide

2 Apr

The Glitter Guide has been a daily read of mine for a while (and it should be one of your’s too), so I was so excited when they posted their amazing photo shoot with Troubadour Clothing on their blog today. Their models are amazingly talented (and stylish) Charleston entrepreneurs, three of which happen to be on the top of my very long role model list.

Hanna

Hanna Seabrook is a fellow Wofford Terrier and Kappa Delta, and the creative genius behind Gadabout. She recently redesigned her entire website and blog, and it offers inspiration daily.

Jackie and ChassityJackie Tyler Thomson, on the left, is the co-owner of Leapfrog PR, where I interned last summer. She’s an amazing inspiration and role model, and I give her and fellow owner Libba Osborne all the credit for inspiring me to pursue a career in lifestyle PR. You look beautiful, Jackie!

Troubador ChassityY’all have heard me rave about Chassity Evans before, but she’s the author of blog Look Linger Love, which was my initial inspiration for starting my own blog. I had the pleasure of meeting her at Charleston Fashion Week and she’s just as adorable in person as she is here!

whole bunch

Cheers to inspirational women,

Margaret

#tbt Spring Breaks Passed

28 Mar

As I sit here one day away from Spring Break, my usual anticipation has not hit me yet. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that once spring break is over, the real countdown to graduation begins. I’ve caught myself wondering/panicking this week that spring break ’13 might in reality be the last true “spring break” of my life, or at least my life in the foreseeable future. That’s the thing about not going to school anymore-you don’t get the spring breaks, summers, and holiday leave. Maybe I should reconsider grad school? So in honor of my last spring break hurrah, here are some of my favorite pictures from spring breaks passed.

And then there was the European Spring Break…

Cheers to one last hurrah,
